Spokesman disputes report on Welker deal
Quoted in The Boston Globe, NFL Players Association spokesman Carl Francis says the union has asked for details of the Patriots' trade with the Miami Dolphins for wide receiver Wes Welker, but is not concerned that the deal violates the league's collective bargaining agreement.
The South Florida Sun Sentinel reported yesterday that the players association was looking into the deal, and noted complaints by Welker's agent that his client had lost money in the deal.
