Back to great weather...

Hey all --

We are back home after a week visiting relatives in the ATL (that's Atlanta for the non-hip-hop set), where it was 83 degrees on Saturday, and we come home to...clouds and chill and rain. Can I cover the Pats from there you think??

Thankfully, while we were gone there was no major news with New England, which meant we could actually relax a bit. We did keep up on things, though, and are a bit upset we missed the chance to talk to Ben Watson about his USO trip to Iraq. From the stories we read, Watson learned a great deal from his experience.

On the NFL front, it seems former Seahawks tight end Jerramy Stevens is making a late run at Pacman Jones for his Dope of the Month award. A blood-alcohol level of .204?? Not only is that stupid, it can get you killed.

But Stevens apparently isn't the brightest bulb in the chandelier. The man is on the open market, and not only is he facing DUI and marijuana possession charges, but the association at the Seattle-area condo where he lived wanted to kick him out for his many non-neighborly incidents.

Since 1998, Stevens has also: allegedly broken a man's jaw with a baseball bat; allegedly drugged and raped a 19-year old girl when he was in college; allegedly drove his car into a retirement home and then fled the scene; and had another alleged DUI in 2003.

With NFL commissioner Roger Goodell looking to take a hard line on player conduct after the many arrests and incidents involving NFL players in recent months, we're betting the commish is telling teams to stay away from Stevens.

Or at least we hope he is.

Getting back to the Patriots, we're going to try, as always, to stay on top of things and get you information as quickly as possible.

That, and hope spring weather comes real soon.

Back to school for you. A blood/alcohol reading of .204 is a perecent reading. Instead of one fifth (20%) of Mr. Stevens' bloodstream being alcohol, only, but far from excusable, two tenths of a percent is how the reading translates.

Andy -- You're right. I had bad information. And hey, I'm a sports girl -- if the Celtics are .204, they've only won 20 percent of their games.
