| Football Today -- What the Patriots lose in losing Rodney Harrison »
The Patriots have just announced that Rodney Harrison has been placed on injured reserve, ending his 15th NFL season. Harrison suffered an injury to his right leg -- reportedly a torn quadriceps -- on the final play of the third quarter Monday night against Denver. Harrison is in the final year of his contract, and that coupled with his age -- he is 35 -- may mean that he has played his last down in the NFL. Defensive back Antwain Spann has been elevated off the practice squad to the 53-man roster in Harrison's stead. Also, C Dan Connolly and DB Mark Dillard have been signed to the practice squad. |
