New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, a guest on WEEI's Dennis and Callahan Show this morning, did not have any prediction as to whether he will play in New England's preseason finale on Thursday night against the New York Giants. He said he does expect to under center for the Patriots' season opener a week from Sunday against Kansas City.

Here's what Brady said when asked by co-host John Dennis if he could play against Kansas City without taking a single snap in an exhibition game:

"Yeah I sure do. This is my ... I've been playing a lot of football, so, whether you play or you don't play, I'd be ready no matter what. It's up to coach. I was hoping I could play last week, and coach made a decision not to have me play, so we'll see what the plan is for this week, I'm not sure. I'm hoping I'm always out there, and if I don't play I'll be ready for Kansas City. I'll be very anxious and excited to have some other questions to answer other than whether I'll be able to play or not."

Brady generally downplayed the teams struggles this preseason, saying that it doesn't matter whether a team goes 4-0 or 0-4 in the preseason, as long as it is ready to go when the real season starts. He said despite last year's success, the team will have some new looks this season, because some of the personnel is different and since opponents have had the entire offseason to study and prepare for the Patriots.

I think that last paragraph is telling. The patriots have new looks this season and do not want the other teams to see them before the regular season starts.

Their play this preseason has been very vanilla. The opponents would audible, the Pats didn't, and they would get beat. It happened the entire TB game.

Brady won't play game 4. Don't give KC anything to look at. Then come and shine like Moss vs Jets game 1 last year.
