Phil Vecchio reports by e-mail:
"Last night my friend and I went out after work to do a little fishing, primarily chasing schoolies. We only took freshwater tackle with us to enjoy the fight.
"Well, let me tell you! The fight was unbelieveable! We caught 30-plus bluefish in the 10- to 12-pound range between Providence Point and Poppasquash Point. A couple times we were surprised to find stripers mixed in the schools.
"Although they were not keepers, it was a nice surprise. The blues were agressive and very hungry. They were jumping out of the water like flying fish! What a great night!"
Tim Clark of Wickford Rodworks found more blitzing fish on both sides of Beavertail Point last night, and he reports:
"The light tackle action is also very good throughout the Bay in the coves and harbors after dark -- Allens Harbor, Wickford, Sandy Point.
"Fluking is still viable in the lower Bay in deep water but is much spottier than the bass and blues."
