Mahi, bonito move in

Striped bass have moved into deep water, making them hard to catch inshore, but bonito and mahi-mahi offer alternative action, said Ron Mouchon as he was heading out Charlestown Breachway this afternoon.

Boaters have been catching the mahi and bonito in 70-degree water right off South County beaches.

Charlestown angler Ray Jones said there were all the fluke anyone could want off the beaches this morning.

Bluefish and scup are plentiful in the same areas, and Mouchon said anglers were catching tautog from the breachway's rocks this morning.
