The news that Boston Bruins forward Phil Kessel is hospitalized sent shock waves throughout the hockey world this afternoon. The Bruins' top pick (fifth overall) in last June's draft is being treated for a medical issue not related to hockey, according to a release from the team. "The statement reads: "At this time there is no further update on Phil's condition. When there is an update, and it is appropriate to do so, we will update everyone on Phil's health. We kindly ask that you respect the Kessel family's privacy during this time." According to an industry source, it appears Kessel will be fine. As a result of Kessel medical issue, Yan Stastny has been recalled from Providence.
The Boston Bruins today annouced that 19-year-old rookie Phil Kessel, the team's first-round pick in the most recent NHL Draft, is receiving medical treatment for an issue not related to hockey. |
