Former Bruin forward Sergei Samsonov is back at The Garden today as a member of the Habs. Montreal just completed its game-day skate and Samsonov drew a lot of media attention. He said it's strange being back here, especially as a Canadien.

It's a bittersweet return to Boston for Sammy, where he was once a first-round pick (eighth overall) in 1997. That year he and top pick Joe Thornton were pegged as the future of hockey here, but now both are gone.

Samsonov was demoted to Montreal's fourth line yesterday and wasn't too happy about it.

"I'm not shocked," he told the Canadian Press. "If you keep track of my ice time, that's what I'm getting right now, I'm a fourth-line player. . . When I came here, I thought I was going to be the go-to guy and obviously that's not the case right now. What is it going to take? I don't know. We'll see."

Samsonov stood by those words this morning.
