Bruins hire player personnel director, assistant coach, scout

The Boston Bruins have named former NHL defenseman and longtime Buffalo Sabres executive Jim Benning their director of player personnel, the Associated Press reports. The team has also hired 15-year NHL veteran Doug Houda to be assistant coach, and Wayne Smith to be a regional scout.
