Hannu Toivonen will start tonight against the Ottawa Senators. This will be his sixth start in the last seven games for the rookie netminder.

Toivonen, 21, enters tonight's game with a 9-5-4 record, including a 2.67 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.

"He has played extremely well for us," said coach Mike Sullivan. "He has certainly given us a chance to win on most nights. He's been making timely saves, and it is those types of saves a team needs to win consistently. Hannu has given us that opportunity."

Andrew Raycroft, the reigning Calder Trophy winner as the league's Rookie of the Year (2003-2004), has struggled a bit, posting a 5-14-2 record. In 21 games he has a 3.45 goals-against average and a .885 save percentage.

"Razor, one of his best assets is his intelligence and his ability to read the play," said Sullivan. "I think when you face a bit of adversity you struggle, and it's hard to be instinctive. Things happen so fast out there and when you can't act on your instincts, it's difficult to be successful. There's a fine line, especially being a goaltender and I think that is what Razor is fighting the most right now.

"We believe in Razor and he is a big part of our team and he will continue to be a big part of this team," added Sullivan. "We are going to help him work through this."
