I'm not too crazy for the new hockey rules. I grew up a Bruins fan - O'Reilly, Milbury, Neely. checking and fighting. Just cause Mario can't score - boo hoo - tell that to Cam Neely - he could check you into tomorrow, kick ass and AND score a pretty goal right after. It's like a boy growing up and not wrestling with his dad, cause mom and grandma thinks it's too rough.
The AHL seems a little tougher and the rules seem just a tad lax than the NHL. I know goalies have been punished for being good; but it really stinks when the puck goes in the netand allowed by the ref when the opposite team can SIT on your goalie and not get called for goalie interference AND the goal counts. It's nice to see goals, but hockey is more than that. I can get just as jacked by a good hip check, a sly take away or stopping a breakaway. Who cares if someone in Florida or Nashville doesn't like hockey as it is???
