More searching in the pumpkin patch

Thanks to the advice of Joe A. and Chris, I sampled Dogfish Head's Punkin Ale and Post Road's Pumpkin Ale. I would suggest giving both a try if you like pumpkin ale with your pumpkin pie or even your pizza pie.

Both were full of flavor and interesting, but distinctly different from each other.
Post Road's Pumpkin Ale was more fruity and carbonated. It reminded me of Blue Moon's Pumpkin Ale.
Dogfish Head's Punkin' Ale was heavier and packed a lot of punch, both in terms of its 7-percent alcohol content and its price. I was surprised when it cost me more than $9 for a 4-pack. That's right four beers. I'm glad I tried it, but if I'm looking for something similar, next time I might go with Saranac's Pumpkin Ale, which cost me less than $7 for a six-pack.
