A friend brought the Brooklyn Brewery East India Pale Ale along for the limo ride as we headed to our wives' 20th high school reunion Saturday. Upon first sip, I blurted, "Wow! That's good!" And it remained conversation-stopping good right to the bottom of the bottle. It was hoppy -- hoppier than I usually prefer -- but had a rich, almost smoky flavor. I recalled trying a Brooklyn Brewery beer at the 2004 Art of Beer Fest in Boston, but hadn't remembered it being such a standout. I will have to revisit some of the other varieties from this brewer.
