Cake and Ice Cream? Not When You Can Hand Out Free Flights

Forget the cake and ice cream. JetBlue is celebrating its eighth birthday (they grow up so fast) this year and handing out flights to 100 of the airline's loyal flyers known as TrueBlue members.

Until Feb. 29, TrueBlue members and those who join can enter to win a free round-trip flight for themeselves and round-trip flights for seven of their friends.

The catch -- when you enter at their site, contestants must list all seven of their friends and their e-mail addresses before they win. JetBlue is guarenteed to get a fairly hefty list of potential flyers (although the company is careful to state on their site that the e-mail addresses won't be sold to a third party and your seven friends won't get unwanted e-mails).Even if you don't win, your friend will be notified that if you had won they would have gotten a sweet (namely free) ride wherever they wanted to go.

Hoping to catch a free flight during the summer or for Thanksgiving? Not a chance.

You can use your flight between May 1, 2008 and Feb. 11, 2009. Here are the blackout dates if you do happen to win:

June 20, 2008 to Sept. 1, 2008
Nov. 21, 2008 to Dec. 1, 2008
Dec. 19, 2008 to Jan. 5, 2009

You also won't be able to travel with all seven of your friends on the same flight on the same day. Only two trips can be redeemed for a flight together.
