Three killed, five injured in Interstate-10 crash
Three people died and five others were injured today in a rollover crash that shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 between Indio and Blythe, authorities said.
The accident, near Cottonwood Springs Road, was reported at 5:48 a.m., according to Riverside County fire information officer Massiel De Guevara.
Three people were pronounced dead at the scene. Three others suffered serious injuries and another two were treated for minor injuries, De Guevara said.
It was unknown if weather was a factor in the crash, which apparently involved only one vehicle.
