Teen held in connection with Good Hope slaying
An 18-year-old man was in custody today, suspected of carjacking, kidnapping and killing an 85-year-old man in Good Hope, authorities said.
Eusebio Fierros Jr. was booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of murder, kidnapping for ransom with injury and carjacking.
About 10:30 a.m. yesterday, deputies were called to check on a man in the 21000 block of Steele Peak Drive who had not been seen in three days, said sheriff's Sgt. Joseph Borja.
The man's vehicle had been impounded the day before and the driver of the vehicle had been identified as Fierros.
Evidence in the vehicle indicated foul play, and investigators who questioned Fierros determined there had been a homicide, said Borja.
Fierros led them to a body in a rural area of Good Hope, said Borja.
The man's identity has not been released. An autopsy will be performed on the man today, according to the Riverside County coroner's office.
Fierros is being held on no bail, pending arraignment Monday at the Murrieta Courthouse.
