As part of our regular look at San Bernardino County sheriff's cold case homicides, here's a potential lead that came from a Press-Enterprise story published earlier this summer.
In late July, I took a long look at the 2000 slayings of a well-off Los Angeles-area accountant and his wife. The couple, Harold "Skip" and Jodi Tillman, was found buried in a remote Yucaipa wash. Their prized Maltese, Teddy, was found dead nearby.
The story is linked here. Today, I received a flier that shows a sketch of a man one witness recalls seeing in the area at the time. The witness contacted detectives after seeing our story, realizing the case had never been solved.
He describes a menacing-looking man with long hair and a baseball cap, driving his Ford Bronco near the area where the bodies were discovered.
Investigators now consider this unknown man a "person of interest" and would like his identity.
Without time for more, the person of interest rendering is included. Tips can be directed at sheriff's homicide detectives at 909-387-3589.
