Quiet clubhouse

Not surprisingly, the Angels locker room was a pretty quiet place after Friday night's demoralizing loss. They battled back from a 4-0 first inning deficit, finally tying it in the eighth at 5-5 -- with five, wearying one-run innings.
Upon coming through the door, reporters saw Game 1 starter John Lackey staring blankly from a chair in front of his locker. Vlad Guerrero sat on a lounge chair by himself, ice on his knee. The first media magnet was catcher Jeff Mathis, who wasn't even in the game after the fifth inning. Reporters crowded his locker, with cameramen fighting for position. Very odd, but he was the only one ready to talk.
Soon Garret Anderson, Chone Figgins and Torii Hunter appeared after showering, and faced the media music.
The questions were deferential and quiet. The answers generally somber.
Anderson, asked how hard it would be to try to win the next two games in Fenway Park, said softly, "You tell me. I mean, you tell me."
