Well, that escalated quickly. Both dugouts emptied in the third inning when Phillies center fielder Shane Victorino started jawing with Dodgers pitcher Hiroki Kuroda, who earlier in the at-bat threw a fastball over Victorino's head. That, presumably, in retaliation for a pitch that hit Russell Martin in the second inning, which was in retaliation, presumably, for a pitch that brushed back Chase Utley in the first inning. Manny Ramirez -- go figure -- was in the middle of the skirmish and was restrained by three Dodgers coaches and an umpire. No one was ejected, but tensions are high. We'll see if this evolves over the course of the game. |
