The Dodgers put pitchers Brad Penny and Corey Wade on the 15-day disabled list Thursday, calling up relievers Eric Stults and Tanyon Sturtze to take their spots.
Penny lasted just three innings in Wednesday's game, allowing six runs in his second start since coming off the DL, and although he was hitting the 90s on the scoreboard, Manager Joe Torre said that Penny "didn't feel right. He didn't say anything about pain, he just didn't have the freedom he'd like to have."
Wade, who was 2-1 with a 2.56 ERA in 40 games, has a shoulder, that Torre said "has been nagging him. He tried the other day to throw a curveball and it was bothering him."
