Russell Martin didn't play at all for only the fourth game this season, and when he returns to the lineup today, Manager Joe Torre said the All-Star catcher would likely not be hitting third immediately in front of Manny Ramirez. "Sometimes he gets up there a little revved up," Torre said, noting that the aggressiveness Martin shows at the plate needs to be more controlled. "There's still some experience that needs to take place there." Jeff Kent could begin hitting third after going 3 for 4 in that spot today. He had previously been hitting sixth behind Ramirez. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

I have no problem with the lineup change.
One thing I have learned this season: everything Joe Torre says about the future should be taken with a grain of salt.
