It all went down with the rookie-ball Ogden Raptors when recent fourth-round pick Devaris Strange-Gordon was hit by a pitch in yesterday's game. Among the others ejected were third-round pick Kyle Russell. Speaking of draft picks, assistant GM Logan White and scouting director Tim Hallgren were out here at Minute Maid Park yesterday showing around 11th-round pick Nathan Eovaldi, an Alvin, Texas native who is considered a "tough sign." If Eovaldi signs, he'll be another talented right-hander in the system. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

From Baseball America: "Aggies recruit Nathan Eovaldi had Tommy John surgery last May, and he rushed back to pitch his senior season at Alvin High. Eovaldi, who capped his spring with a victory in the state 5-A regional semifinals, has been back up to 92-93 mph. He hasn't been able to throw a breaking ball, however, and his hard slider was inconsistent in the path. Scouts admire his grit but balk at his price tag, so he'll probably end up in College Station."
So, talented, but already a UCL-surgery in his past.
I heard that the 42nd round pick, Adam Moskowitz 2B out of Valley Hgh School in West Des Moines Iowa, is the best late round pick in the draft this year and maybe since Mike Piazza. A 5-tool guy, that just was under the radar because he just started as a senior.
What do you all know or heard about him?
