SS Rafael Furcal took grounders on Tuesday and said he was hopeful his back would feel good on Wednesday so he could push harder in hopes of a return prior to the All-Star Break. Furcal still has not run without pain but he has been hitting and the taking grounders was considered a big step forward. "Everyday, we're trying to do more stuff," Furcal said. Furcal was hitting .366 with 34 runs scored prior to getting hurt and is in a contract year. He said getting back to the lineup was most important and he was not worried about how it might impact his post-season negotiations. "I just want to get healthy," he said. "After the season, we will see what happens." |
