Road-warrior Braves 9, Hapless-at-home Angels 4

They came into Anaheim with the worst road record in MLB but after two games, the Braves have taken something away from the Angels that the last eight teams they've played, and the last eight NL teams they've played in interleague series, could not.

They've ended the Angels' best-in-baseball two series win streaks by outscoring them14-6, outhitting them 26-15, and outpitching them in every way that stat can be measured with Riverside's Jo-Jo Reyes doing the job Friday and first-time major league starter Charlie Morton doing it on Saturday.

With the Angels not swinging the bats and not getting on, they can't play aggressive baseball on the basepaths.

And when the Angels starters melt down by the sixth inning, they can't hit enough to get back in games right now.

Hard to believe at 41-28, the Angels still have the third-best record in baseball.

But it's not hard to believe they've lost two of their season-best 5.5-game lead over Oakland (37-31) with the A's taking advantage of the Angels' slump to win two straight over San Francisco and creep back to within 3.5 games.
