Red Sox still here in Lakers-Celtics land

If the Lakers' run through the playoffs has blotted out some of the visibility of the Dodgers and Angels, Boston hasn't forgotten about the Red Sox. The city is still awash in "B" caps and "Red Sox" T-shirts, and the Celtics-Lakers opener the other night only shared equal billing with the Red Sox-Tampa Bay basebrawl.
A waitress in a North End restaurant was curious about some conversation at our table (four LA sports writers) the other day, and offered that she was really happy for the Celtics and that her favorite player was Ray Allen.
"He doesn't get as much attention as the other two, but I love it when he throws in those long ones," she said, her Boston accent dripping.
Have the C's overshadowed the Red Sox, someone asked.
"The Sawx?" she said. "Nawwwww! Everyone loves the Sawx!"
