Mets 5, Angels 4, 10 innings

The Angels lost, 5-4, in 10 innings on Wednesday, with Justin Speier allowing a solo shot to Damion Easley in the 10th for the final margin.

Francisco Rodriguez had his streak of 25 consecutive saves and 14 games without allowing a run come to an end after allowing a ninth-inning run.

The Angels had their chances, but an odd double play in the fifth inning killed the chance at a big inning. To put it in perspective, the play was scored 5-2-4-6-5 and involved two tag plays.

"We win as a team and we lose as a team, I just ended up giving up the winning run," Speier said of the decisive homer, which was just the second of the year for Easley. "I made a bad pitch, it stinks and we lost the game."
