- The Dodgers are preparing for the strong possibility that Brad Penny will miss at least one start. Joe Torre said the way he was leaning, Chan Ho Park and Hong-Chih Kuo would only be looked upon as possibilities for Friday if it were a spot start, but that he didn't want to mess with his bullpen. More likely, Eric Stults is the frontrunner given that he is pitching well for Class AAA Las Vegas, went six shutout last night and would be in line to pitch Friday on regular rest. Jason Johnson and James McDonald were mentioned as possibilities, but Johnson is less likely because the team would need a 40-man roster spot for him. - Clayton Kershaw's next start will be pushed back to Saturday in Los Angeles. - Andy LaRoche took a ground ball to the face that left him with a nosebleed. Who hit it? "Bowa," LaRoche said with a smile. "He did it on purpose." 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

Guo should make any starts that Penny misses due to injury. He has been arguably (along with Billingsley) the Dodgers best pitcher this year and Torre is wasting him away in low leverage mop up duty in the bullpen. Promote Guo to the rotation and use Stults for MLB mop up that Guo is/was doing. Commone sense!
