Staff writer Jerry Soifer caught up with former Norco High football player Casey Hansen, who recently signed a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. Here's Jerry's report: Norco High graduate Casey Hansen, a quarterback, said Wednesday he has signed a contract a contact to play for the Philadelphia Eagles. Hansen recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from Norfolk State where he played football for two years, becoming the school's No. 2 all-time passer. Hansen, 23, graduated from Norco in 2003. He went to Colorado State on a football scholarship for two years. He bounced back to Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga before going to the Virginia college. "I'm very excited," Hansen said. "It's like a dream come true." Hansen said he was not invited to the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis but showed his talents at a pro day at his college and also at Virginia Tech. "It's been a long five years," Hansen said. "It's been a lot of hard work. It looks like it's going to pay off for me." Hansen said he signed a free agent contract with no signing bonus. He leaves his Corona home Sunday to report to the Eagles on Monday May 18.
