Angels Face Percival

It seemed a couple years ago that Troy Percival's career was done.

He signed the retirement papers, threw out the first pitch last season and that seemed like that. Only thing was, it wasn't.

Percival, a Riverside resident, came back.

And, he's not doing so bad, either. Especially for a guy who was retired at this time last year.

Now, he leads a revamped Tampa bullpen against the Angels in this weekend's three-game series.

I asked Angels manager Mike Scioscia if he was amazed by Percival.

"Yeah," he said. "He felt it coming. He felt the thing coming together. Most guys in their playing career go from playing to coaching. He went from coaching to playing."
