Dodger catcher Russell Martin described the pitch that hit home plate umpire Kerwin Danley as a Mike Tyson uppercut. Danley was taken to an area hospital after being hit in the jaw by the Brad Penny pitch. Martin said he called for a curveball and instead got a 96 miles-per-hour fastball that just sailed over his glove and clocked Danley. Martin stayed on the field as Danley was treated by medical personnel. "I told him I was sorry," Martin said. "I feel bad about that happening," Penny said. |
