The Lakers were ahead by 12 points entering the fourth quarter when Coach Phil Jackson sat down starters Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Derek Fisher. Jackson inserted his reserves unit of Jordan Farmar, Luke Walton, Jordan Farmar and Sasha Vujacic to play alongside starter Lamar Odom. All that group did was push the Lakers' lead to 26 points in the fourth. It was something Jackson needed to see from his reserves. Farmar had 11 points and four rebounds. Turiaf had 10 points and one blocked shot.
``The really shut the door on the game,'' Jackson said. ``That's been their role early in the season. In the first half of the year, they were really exceptional at that. That saves a lot energy for the rest of the team and gives them a lot of confidence. That's a good sign for us.'' -- Broderick Turner |
