Francisco Rodriguez was not happy when he entered the clubhouse Tuesday and it wasn't because of his blown save, or his tender ankles. It was the following Internet report (click here: http://losangeles.angels.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080407&content_id=2502353&vkey=news_ana&fext=.jsp&c_id=ana) that Rodriguez was upset about. In the story it erroneously reports that Rodriguez said he will go on the disabled list when the closer clearly told reporters he will not. I was the one who asked the question last night if Rodriguez felt a stint on the DL would serve him better so that he could fully rest the right ankle for 15 days. He said no, he didn't feel he needed to go on the DL, that he would give it three or four days and be fine. Obviously it was misconstrued that he would need to be on the DL and Rodriguez was so upset he didn't even want to speak with reporters today. Eventually we talked him off the ledge - to an extent - and he said he felt good enough to pitch tonight. Doubtful, but it's progress. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

I hope K-Rod doesn't miss much time. Justin Speier just blew his first save opp. For some reason I knew he would. He's good for three outs only. Never try to get four outs from him. I hope the Angels come back again. Right now this bullpen scares me.
Vlad trying to do way too much just kills us in the 9th. Thanks for nothing Justin Speier. Never call yourself a closer because you're far from it. What a garbage game after a great win last night. Shameful pitching from Speier.
