Saito session cut short, Penny leaves quickly

Closer Takashi Saito cut short his throwing session at Dodgertown as a precaution after experiencing cramping in his right calf. It was the same calf he strained during an offseason workout last year, causing him to be limited during the early days of camp.

Brad Penny pitched two scoreless innings during a 1-0 loss to the Mets and then was whisked away for a flight to Columbus, Ohio, where he was scheduled to take in UFC 82. He's expected to return to camp tomorrow.
