Dodgers, Sweeney agree on deal
The Dodgers have agreed to terms with Mark Sweeney on a one-year, $600,000 contract that could be worth $900,000, including bonuses. He'd get $125,000 for making the team. The deal should be announced later on today pending the completion of a physical.
UPDATE: It's official.

Diamond, thanks for all your hard work.
Dodgers.com lists Sweeney on the 40-man, and the Daily News reported the deal was $725,000 -- as opposed to the $600,000 previously thought.
Did Sweeney already get the $125,000 for making the team? Was this a case of agreeing to a non-roster deal then, after talking to Torre, the deal became a major league deal?
Thanks!
