Karl plays twice in a day

When Coby Karl entered the Lakers game Tuesday night with 6:20 left, he made history, of sorts.

Karl had played 37 minutes earlier Tuesday for the Lakers' D-League team and scored 15 points for the D-Fenders.

Karl joined Lakers teammate Jordan Farmar as the only players in NBA history to play in a D-League game and an NBA game in the same day.

Farmar first did it on April 1, 2007, by playing for the D-Fenders and for the Lakers against the Sacramento Kings later that night.

Karl, who was called up by the Lakers from the D-Fenders before Tuesday night's game, scored five points and handed out one assists.

``I'm in the position where any time I can get on the floor, whether it's with the D-Fenders or the Lakers, I have to take advantage of it,'' Karl said.
