Ducks, Kings mostly quiet at trade deadline

There were no major moves by either the Ducks or Kings as the NHL trading deadline passed at noon today.

The Kings did deal defenseman Brad Stuart to Detroit for a second round pick in the 2008 draft and a fourth round selection in the 2009 draft. Stuart will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Captain Rob Blake was reported to have waived his no-trade clause in order to facilitate a deal to Colorado, but he remains with the Kings.

The Ducks acquired defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron from the New York Islanders for a third-round pick.

The local teams also made the first deal ever between themselves, with the Kings sending goalie Jean-Sebastien Aubin, who is currently playing in the minors, to the Ducks for a seventh-round pick.

The Kings now have eight picks in the first three rounds of the 2008 draft (2 first rounders and 3 in each of the next two rounds).
