Jazz concert added to Palm Springs ride
A free jazz concert will be held Saturday in conjunction with the 10th annual Tour de Palm Springs, a bike ride that draws thousands to the downtown area and raises money for local charities.
A stage will be set up on Arenas Road, from Palm Canyon Drive to Baristo Road, for “Tour de Jazz,” which begins at 5 p.m.
The concert, featuring musicians from around the Coachella Valley and from local high schools, will showcase both big bands and small combos, said city spokeswoman Cindy Uken.
