Wednesday update
Lots of players held out of practice today, the first day of preparation for Sunday's Minnesota game. DT Ryon Bingham (shoulder), WR Craig Davis (ankle), C Nick Hardwick (foot), CB Quentin Jammer (hamstring), LB Shaun Phillips (groin) and LB Matt WIlhelm (ankle) did not participate.
DT Jamal Williams, in contrast, participated in all drills. Williams, who had both knees scoped during the bye week, was inactive last week against Houston.
Phillips strained his groin early in Sunday's game, and he said Wednesday that his status was "day to day."
"We'll figure it out as we go along," he said. "It's feeling a little better every day. If it feels good Sunday we're out there. If not, we're not gonna risk it. Right now it feels good, but it's a muscle injury, and you just never know with muscle injuries."

In other notes, punter Mike Scifres was named AFC special teams player of the week after averaging 50.2 yards on five punts, including a 63-yarder. All five landed inside the Houston 20, including one which was downed at the Texans' 1.
Scifres is fourth in the AFC with a 38.4 net average.
"I started out a little slow, which I was upset with," he said. "That bye week hit just right. It gave me some time to look back at the things I was doing wrong and the things I was doing right.
"In the preseason I was hitting th eball the way I wanted to, but there was a couple weeks where I wasn't as consistnet as I should have been. I feel like I'm getting back to that point. ... I think I was pressing a little too much and trying too hard to get to the numbers I was at last year, instead of just relaxing and going out and having fun with it."
