Year 2 of the Rivers Era

Philip Rivers seems more comfortable with his role as he enters his second year as starting quarterback this afternoon.

“Obviously, every game you play, every rep you take, you get more and more comfortable with the offense,” he said earlier in the week. “We’re doing some different stuff this year offensively, that’s added to our whole package. And now LT (LaDainian Tomlinson) will be in there with us for the first time this week. We’ll be ready to go.”

How much has Norv Turner changed in the offense?

“I don’t know if you’d call it change,” he said. “He’s added and tweaked a lot. What we’ve done well, which is a lot – we led the league last year in scoring, so we did a lot of good things, and we kept that. And we added some things to complement those things, and then some totally brand new things. I think it’s done nothing but expand from our packages and things last year and made them better.”
