Chargers tickets on sale Wednesday
The Chargers will put a limited number of single-game tickets on sale today at 8 a.m. through the team's website www.chargers.com.
The team announced Monday that it had stopped selling season tickets so that it could make individual game tickets to its 10 home games (two exhibitions, eight regular season) available.
The Chargers also announced the beginning of a waiting list for future season tickets. Fans on the waiting list will be sold season tickets on a first-come, first-served basis if season tickets become available next season.
The Chargers had an NFL-best 14-2 record last season led by league MVP LaDainian Tomlinson but failed to advance in the playoffs and subsequently fired head coach Marty Schottenheimer and lost a number of his key assistants. While the player roster remains almost unchanged from 2006, the coaching staff is almost entirely new, headed by Norv Turner and defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell.
The team's first full-squad practice is Saturday at 4 p.m. at the team's Murphy Canyon Road complex, Chargers Park and is open to the public.
