Keyshawn Says Hello-Goodbye
With a conference call to national media in USC Sports Information Director Tim Tessalone's office Wednesday, Keyshawn Johnson said goodbye to football, at least to playing football, in a familiar place.
And hello to, as Keyshawn and his "people'' were calling it, a career on a "multi-platform ESPN-ABC'' contract involving both sports and entertainment oportunities.
"I started out here as a 8-year-old licking envelopes in the sports information office,'' Johnson said.
Turns out, the player who would go on to become a USC All-American wide receiver and No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, may have started even earlier than that, as a six-year-old neighborhood ball boy at John McKay's practices.
