'Dancing With the Stars' Next
Imagine the book Keyshawn Johnson could write if the author of "Just Give Me the Damn Ball'' after his rookie NFL season gets a spot on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars'' next year as his lawyer-agent Jerome Stanley is in the works.
Just one of the many opportunities that Stanley, Johnson's LA-based negotiator-representative, described as "the best transitional opportunity'' ever offered a former athlete that will include: Monday Night Football Countdown on ESPN with his old coach Bill Parcells; NFL Countdown (ESPN) on Sundays; an ESPN.com weekly column; a Friday night ESPN Radio show with Parcells and Chris Mortensen as well as doing NFL Draft and Super Bowl coverage for ESPN.
For ABC, Johnson will be an LA-based entertainment contributor with opportunities to do "Dancing With the Stars'' and even as a substitute host for Regis Philbin on the Notre Dame alum's show. Better wait on that one.
The deal, Stanley said without revealing dollar figures, is for "multiple years'' and replaces an earlier agreement that Johson, 34, was working on with the network to play a final year and then go fulltime before Carolina released him.
