Will Calvin Johnson be No. 1?

The Boson Herald is reporting the Raiders and Packers are talking about a deal that would send disgruntled receiver Randy Moss and tight end Courtney Anderson to the Packers for former Cal quarterback Aaron Rodgers and a seventh-round pick in 2008.

On the surface it sounds like a classic "less is more" deal. Or, for everyone who thinks Rodgers is a stiff, "less is less."

But, if there is truth to it, what does that tell you about where Oakland is leaning toward with the No. 1 pick in April's draft? The Raiders already have strong-armed but shell-shocked Andrew Walter. They took a run at Jeff Garcia. Now they're trying to land Rodgers?

That tells me that Al Davis loves Calvin Johnson a lot more than he loves JaMarcus Russell or Brady Quinn at No. 1.

Johnson is 6-foot-4 with 4.3 speed in the 40. Teammed with Porter, he could give the Raiders two speedy 6-4 playmakers on the outside. That kind of size/speed combo puts a ton of pressure on smaller corners that average about 5-10 and don't run any faster than 4.3 in most cases.

Johnson is potentially a younger, bigger, faster Randy Moss without the attitude.
