Peyton at the line

Peyton Manning will call a fake play at the line of scrimmage to elicit a reaction from the defense, according to a feature on NFL Network this morning. Then Manning will change to a real play and then he may change out of that to another play all together. That's a lot of what the Colts quarterback is doing at the line of scrimmage before snapping the ball.

Instead of watching Manning go through all this, watch the defense. Big D-linemen don't want to squat in their stance for 15-, 20-seconds. The Baltimore Ravens, among other teams, like to wait until the 10 or fewer seconds are left on the play clock before getting into their stance. If you see the Bears lineman planted in their stance for a long time, you'll also see them sucking wind by the fourth quarter.

Expect Manning to snap the ball quickly a couple of times early in the game to keep the Bears honest.
