Great day for ... the RAIDERS

The Chargers have hired Norv Turner as head coach!

In seven seasons has head coach of the Washington Redskins through the second half of the 1990s, Turner went 49-59-1 with one NFC East championship, one playoff appearance and five finishes of third, fourth or fifth.

In two miserable seasons as head coach of the Oakland Raiders in 2004 and '05, Turner went 9-23 with two fourth-place finishes in a four-team division.

In nine seasons overall as a head coach, Turner's teams have been better than .500 only three times and totaled 10 wins over better only once (10-6 in 1999). His teams have won fewer than seven games five times.
