Does this count?
Consultants Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc. calculate that the business community will lose about $820 million worth of worker productivity this week because of the distractions of the Super Bowl.
I'm wondering if that counts the lost productivity of all of the reporters who have to stand there and fume as their brethren (usually TV folks, often non-sports reporters) ask such questions as, "If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?"
Then again, it sounds like the leader in the dumb question category at this year's Media Day was the interviewer who asked players if they were going to win one for Barbaro.
(I'd add something about beating a dead horse, but that cliche might not be such a good idea in this case.)
