Need to wake up from the relaxation of a long weekend? Boy have I got a band for you.

Imagine walking in to Back to the Grind in downtown Riverside a couple of months ago and all of a sudden, a blistering barrage of punky garage rock shakes your latte.

Yeah, it was awesome and it was the Sess. The Sess (pronounced "Sesh"), are based in San Diego now, but they have some roots up here in the Inland area.

They were mentioned in Spin magazine this month as one of the bands to catch in San Diego.

On Friday, you can catch the band in L.A. at The Smell with Traditional Fools and the Power Chords. 247 South Main St., Los Angeles. It's $5.
