Changing your name can really confuse people, just ask Prince. But that hasn't stopped Los Angeles rock outfit Mt. Helium. They used to be known as the Apex Theory and you might have seen them under that moniker at the Glen Helen Pavilion in Devore at Ozzfest in 2002 or on tour with Corona's own Casket Salesmen in recent years. ![]() Ch-ch-changes: Mt. Helium used to be called the Apex Theory. Now they're not. But after swapping band members and dividing and reforming (wow, that sounds like some kind of amoeba science experiment with a microscope from high school biology), the band has released a new full-length, "Faces" and is playing Saturday at the Roxy in Los Angeles. I'm a fan of the song "Pins," which the band has posted on its MySpace page. They remind me a little bit of Chevelle, but better. |
