Karista Smith has kicked off the final day of Stagecoach 2008 over at the Palomino Stage.

"I'm so honored to be here today," she told the enthusiastic, if modest, crowd after her first song.

Karista Smith, who grew up in Yucca Valley, sings on the Palomino Stage at Stagecoach.

She's not lying. I met Smith yesterday and she was ecstatic to be playing Stagecoach this year. She was here as a fan in 2007.

She grew up in Yucca Valley and splits her time between the desert and Nashville these days.

Smith has a ton of potential, and is already working the crowd and the stage like someone who may not be too far off from being on the Mane Stage in a couple of years.
