So the details of "Guitar Hero 4" are starting to leak and it looks like there's going to be a drum set. This is not to be confused with "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith," which is coming out this summer. This is the full-on GH experience, or by the looks of it, "Rock Band" experience. The one plus about the new "Guitar Hero" drum set is that it looks like it includes cymbals, and who doesn't love cymbals. And apparently there actually is a "Drum Hero" spinoff in the works. But the really cool thing about GH4? Apparently you can upload your own songs into it. I am hoping that means I can torture friends and relatives by making them play the nonsense songs I write--like the one about former Maryland Governor Bob Ehrlich eating a piece of pie at an Annapolis deli. Of course, the fellow reporters who wrote our song, which only has half of a chorus, would have to sign off on it. Back to the drums, though, I really hope I don't have to buy another drum set for the new one, but it kind of looks that way. I am starting to run out of space in my living room. 3 CommentsLeave a comment |

I think there are a lot of songs people create worth importing into the program. Like Wesley Willis tribute songs, for example.
Awesome, thanks for the update. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of GH Aerosmith edition next month, and I am so happy to hear that Guitar Hero is thinking about the drum set(and Mic hopefully). It sounds like it's going to be better than Rock Band, which is still pretty sweet. Oh how awesome it will be to use my ipod to rock. What a blast! I agree with you on the living room clutter! If they don't stop coming out with bigger and better instruments it looks
like i'm going to have to start moving out furniture soon.
Sara-
Thanks for reading. I was apartment hunting this weekend and I'd be lying if I said living room video game space wasn't one of the things I was looking at in my search.
I'm excited for GH Aerosmith as well. I just hope the focus is on older Aerosmith songs. As far as the newer stuff, which I just realized is about 20 years old, I like "Permanent Vacation" through "Get a Grip," but I really wasn't a fan after that, except for the live stuff.
But there is only one song I HAVE to play, and that is "Mama Kin." If that isn't on there, I will just cry.
